Con ocasión of esta invitación viajé a the Paz in octubre of the año pasado, acudí a este evento with 11 obras and ahora me permito incluir 2 of éstas, que conformaron the bienal. Mi honraron a participar como “invitado of honor” in the Bienal Internacional of Arte, -Siart-, 2007, in Bolivia and acudí in representación of the Ecuador. the convocatoria of este evento tenía que ver with the “Heterotopía”, que –según his curadores- es ese “espacio real dentro of the casa ficticia in the árbol of the niños”. Ahora estoy implementando más obras for llevarlas a a museo in the ciudad of Santa Cruz. Esta Exhibition prevista for mediados of este año surgió with ocasión of mi participación in SIART.

3. Brevísima descripción of the obra: Esta obra está basada in a dibujo pictórico que se inspira in the Renacimiento. Este dibujo-pictórico está realizado with the ramas of árbol, que hace the veces of pincel, untadas in acrílico. Escogí este instrumento porque advertí que with este procedimiento me expreso libremente about the superficie of the papel kraft, the cartón and recortes of periódico.
Esta pintura está compuesta by cuatro paneles; in cada panel se replica the figura of a torso in movimiento invertido. in cada a of estas figuras se crea a juego of contrastes of colores and tonalidades opuestas. Cromáticamente predomina the azul marino (que simboliza the cielo) emergiendo of the color pardo of the cartón (remitiéndonos al color of the barro and of the tierra). Esta reiteración of dualismos (claro-oscuro, caos-constructivismo, figuras invertidas) es, in ocasiones, interrumpida by brotes of verde, rojo, amarillo, and by recortes of periódico and letras. the base about the cual están fijados the paneles está recubierta of periódicos informativos. the juegos visuales, and the forma como se ha dispuesto the elementos plasmados se asemejan a the naipes, a elemento of juego of the cotidianidad ecuatoriana.
4. Hiperbrevísimo contexto teórico of the obra: Este proyecto artístico surge of the deseo of reencontrar tiempos, realidades and prácticas artísticas distintas. by a lado, he imbricado the arte clásico renacentista with símbolos contemporáneos como son the recortes of periódicos actuales que están in the soporte of the pintura. Si bien the torso está inspirado in the dibujo clásico of Leonardo da Vinci, sin embargo se ha querido romper with the linealidad of the clasicismo, abandonando the instrumentos tradiciones of dibujo, and adoptando propuestas modernas and personales. He trabajado with the papeles/cartones in the piso y, como se ha explicado, with a rama of árbol embadurnada in azul he querido emular the dripping pollockiano. He movido desde arriba mi brazo, with entera libertad, hasta dar forma a esos torsos azules of the paneles. Mis dibujos pictóricos se liberan of the fuente inspirativa clásica and cobran vida propia in the actualidad, imbricando the arte of the pasado with the presente, and recreando, desde mi imaginación, a realidad heterotópica.
Aparte of ello, he contrapuesto elementos of the naturaleza (el cielo, the tierra, the ramas) with elementos of the contemporaneidad urbana, the era of the información, of the medios and of the palabra (reflejados in the noticias periodísticas que constituyen the base of the cuadro). Aunque the actualidad parece haber deslindado the ciudad of the naturaleza, yo intento reencontrar ambas realidades in the escenario heterotópico of mi propuesta plástica.

Brevísima descripción of the obra: the composición of esta obra parte of the triángulo and the pirámide, and se inspira in a pintura mundialmente conocida como es Guernica. in este proyecto he pretendido hacer reinterpretación of the misma a través a lenguaje pictórico propio, imbricando dos tiempos (pasado and presente) and dos propuestas plásticas of mundos, épocas and realidades distintas. A the colores grisáceos of Picasso the he reemplazado by colores andinos of gran contraste, and the he plasmado about a base of lienzo and cáñamo (siendo este último a tejido típico of nuestra región). Esta pintura está configurada with retazos que hacen alusión al paisaje andino and a formas escalonadas pre-hispánicas (que nos remiten a the diseños of the textiles indígenas), combinados with elementos guerniquences, como the toro, otras máscaras of animales and the foco que alumbra the destrucción and the de-construcción of the obra. the formas and the colores hacen of ésta a pintura visualmente dinámica (las figuras suben, bajan and crean espejismos in the visor). Además, about base of lienzo and cáñamo he adherido recortes of periódico for suministrarle actualidad a the obra. the contraste of colores fuertes, como the azul and the rojo about the base muda of the cáñamo, crea the ilusión of que the cielo estuviera entretejiéndose with the paisaje andino, resquebrajando the visión uniforme and paralela of the cielo and the tierra.
4. Hiperbrevísimo contexto teórico of the obra: Al igual que in the obra anterior (Naipe, 2006), uno of the objetivos of este proyecto es contraponer a obra of the siglo pasado (un hito in the historia of the arte universal) with a propuesta personal. of Guernica he retomado the ausencia of vida and the muerte of the naturaleza; about esta base inerte and gris he imbricado a variedad of símbolos vitales, of movimiento, color and naturaleza. Además of mostrar como the arte of culturas distintas puede retroalimentarse, enriquecer al artista and al visor, pretendo, a través of a obra plástica, acercar dos mundos, dos artistas, dos culturas and dos épocas for mostrar the riqueza and the vitalidad que surgen of the diálogo intercultural. Al igual que Naipe, esta pintura se inspira and parte of the Guernica of Picasso, pero se recrea and cobra vida propia in the realidad heterotópica of the Ecuadorian artist and his herencia andina.
